Event Details:
Encaustic wax is painted in layers and results in a beautiful depth and luminosity that is unique to encaustic. Encaustic requires heating the wax to 180-200F, heat-fusing with a hot gun, blow torch or an iron. This workshop covers the basic techniques and mixed media materials including texture and mark-making, materials, and working with photography. Students will create 2-4 small paintings, and all materials are included.
