Tennessee Craft – Southwest

Tennessee Craft – Southwest (formerly MACA) covers Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton counties, and is open to everyone interested in fine craft from the beginner to the most accomplished. Artists, students, gallery owners, schools, guilds, co-ops and appreciators are welcome to join. This active chapter is committed to promoting local craft. Shoppers and collectors find our work at craft fairs, trunk shows, art galleries and museums. Member meetings with guest speakers and various outings help individuals succeed and find support in our region.

Tennessee Craft Southwest Holiday Member Meeting

This will be our Holiday potluck event. We will also vote for our 2019 Board members and discuss our 2019 events and shows.

Tennessee Craft Southwest Board Meeting
Date: Second Monday of each month

2019 Memphis Empty Bowls Project
Date: Sunday, January 20
Time: 5:00-7:00pm
Location: Crosstown Concourse, West Atrium; 1350 Concourse Ave.

Tennessee Craft Southwest Maker’s Event
Date:
October 11, 2018
Location: Belltower Artisans
Tennessee Craft Southwest, in partnership with Memphis’ Belltower Artisans, will hold a makers event in support of the Memphis Empty Bowls Project. The event will be a creative group gathering to produce soup bowls for donation to the upcoming Empty Bowls charity event (all proceeds are used to fight hunger throughout the Mid-South).

 

Art Harvest 2018
Dates: October 6-7, 2018
Location: Jay Etkin Gallery, Memphis
Tennessee Craft- Southwest hosted a two-day craft and art pop-up shop at the Jay Etkin Gallery as part of Tennessee Craft Week. There were 10 artists participating which included 2 non-members.

 

Tennessee Fine Craft Showcase at Gallery 1091

​​Tennessee Craft-Southwest members produce fine craft in a dazzling array of media and styles. Show your best work in the Tennessee Fine Craft Showcase at WKNO Gallery Ten Ninety-One. Judges from the local art scene will select winners for $700 in prizes. Each artist may submit up to 5 pieces. All members are encouraged to participate.

 

Jewish Community Center Collaborations Show
Dates: April 5-27, 2018
The fourth annual Collaborations Show at the Memphis Jewish Community Center!  Our members have teamed up to create the most amazing collaborative works, which will then be showcased in JCC’s gallery for the month of April in 2018.  There’s nothing like it in the tri-state area.
