Artist Statement
I was born on Weaver Air Force Base, South Dakota, and spent my childhood on various military installations in the US and in Germany. I have been making art for most of the last 50 years, most of it abstract.
I majored in Art at East Tennessee State University, took lots of figure drawing, painting, and printmaking classes, flirted with surrealism and the painting techniques of the Old Masters, but soon after graduation, rediscovered the joys of abstraction, the relationships between colors and shapes. Those relationships continue to intrigue me.
