Artist Statement
This husband and wife team work alongside each other throughout the entire process of producing their pieces. He mainly throws on the wheel and she makes hand-built pieces. Together, they collaborate on what types of pieces to make and on the finished processes. Both are involved in the measuring and mixing of chemicals and glazes. Both draw, tape, and glaze on the pieces. They are both involved in creating and cutting vinyl designs for resist. Together they glaze and fire the kilns; treat and wrap aluminum foil pieces; and burn the horsehair onto pieces (he pulls the hot piece from kiln and she drapes the hair onto the pieces).
