Artist Statement
My work stems from a deep connection to the quiet, isolated landscapes of my upbringing, where solitude became both a comfort and a source of mystery. I’m drawn to moments that feel suspended in time, spaces that are in-between, neither fully here nor there. These liminal environments carry an emotional weight for me, representing not just physical spaces but also internal states of reflection and transition.
Using a predominantly blue color palette, I explore the tension between familiarity and ambiguity, where the comfort of familiar places is tinged with unease. By blending representational imagery and various techniques, I aim to evoke this emotional complexity, inviting viewers to step into a space that feels both personal and universal.
I want my art to serve as a place where viewers can confront their own experiences with solitude and stillness, reflecting on the passage of time and the memories tied to their own landscapes. My goal is to create a contemplative space that resonates emotionally, inviting introspection and connection.
