Tennessee Craft – South
About the Chapter
Tennessee Craft – South is an active and engaged chapter of our organization. South members have year-round opportunities to gather, network, exhibit and sell work.
Each year, chapter members participate in the Emerging Makers Tent at Tennessee Craft’s spring and fall craft fairs in Nashville’s Centennial Park by exhibiting, demonstrating and volunteering.
The chapter also hosts an annual Holiday Tour of Studios and Galleries which is held the first weekend of December in Sewanee and Monteagle. Over 35 craft artists showcase a variety of fine craft, including pottery, wood furniture, wood carvings, books, jewelry, textiles, glass, sculpture and many other handmade items.
Tennessee Craft – South welcomes artists and arts advocates from the following counties to participate in meetings and events: Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion, Marshall, Maury, Moore, Perry and Wayne.

The EMPTY TABLES project hosted by Tennessee Craft South during their December STUDIO TOUR
Tennessee Craft South is sponsoring Empty Tables, an artist initiative to address local hunger. We invite artists in our region to devote some of their time this fall to making items to be sold during the Tennessee Craft South Studio Tour in the first weekend of December, with all proceeds being used to combat hunger in our area. During the Studio Tour in Previous Years, our Tennessee Craft South group was able to contribute ~ $2000 for this important project.
To achieve the goals of the Empty Tables project, Tennessee Craft South is partnering with Sewanee Locally Grown, a local gardeners’ market group in Sewanee, the Community Action Committee in Sewanee, and Morton Memorial Church in Monteagle, all of which regularly gather and distribute food to families struggling in Franklin, Marion, and Grundy Counties. At the Tennessee Craft South studio tour during the first weekend of December, a booth in the American Legion Hall in Sewanee will feature the artwork of the Empty Tables project for sale. The price of each piece is a donation determined by the buyer, and 100% of the money raised will be used to purchase food for those in need. Artists’ works can be delivered to LOCALS ( 49 University Avenue, Sewanee) at our Sunday, November 10th meeting, 1 PM, in Sewanee, TN or brought to the American Legion Hall ( 36 University Avenue, Sewanee ) Friday, December 6th, during set up.
All contributions are welcome, regardless of whether or not the artist is a member of Tennessee Craft. Feel free to contact Lee Limbird ( llimbird95[AT]gmail[DOT]com) if you would like to participate, or if you have questions or need more information.v
