Mike Zinser has been a furniture maker for the better part of 60 years. In the early 1990’s he met Charles Alvis (president of the Tennessee Association of Woodturners) at what was then the TACA Craft Fair. Since his retirement in 2001, woodturning has been his wood working focus, though he still occasionally “dabbles†in other wood projects. Through his involvement with the local turning club he was able to hone his turning skills both from club meeting demonstrations and classes at various craft schools. At present, he enjoys turning off center/off axis wall hangings, sometimes using color stains for effect. At present he is a member of four woodturning clubs, one wood working club and teaches woodturning at the Narrow Gate Lodge.
