Artist Statement
Have a small studio in my home where I can work quietly with plenty of beautiful sun light. In both clays, raku and stoneware, I am alway trying to create texture of touch or texture within the glaze results. I work on the wheel and with slab, sometimes combing both for a piece. Stains, layering of glaze, carving, adding clay, creating a fabric of texture that becomes a canvas for creating forms; these are all parts of the process to help make these functional and decorative pieces. I love nature, texture, warm colors and themes of serenity. I hope to develop a voice of comfort within each pieces that will last for years to come.
