Artist Statement
After thirty-three years of teaching art in Rochester, New York, I moved to Gallatin, Tennessee in 1999. I have been working with wood since I was an undergraduate in college. I received a Bachelors Degree in fine Arts from the State University of New York, Buffalo and a Masters Degree from the State University of New York, Brockport. I am a painter as well as a sculptor but creating with wood has been my main focus. When I approach a new piece, I have three things in mind: function, a combination of interesting forms, and the use of contrasting woods.
