Artist Statement
What a wonderful experience to have Viewers and Judges alike select my art
for awards in a number shows throughout the area and to have had galleries
and business collaborations host solo shows of my art for over 20 years.
I believe art offers many emotional benefits similar to the physical benefits of
salt including flavor, preservation, and healing. My work is and will be for the
people, accessible and enjoyable when happened upon. This creative frame
of mind lends itself completely to public art while comfortably finding
belonging in private collection as well.
The influence of an Appalachian upbringing is inextricable from my work.
Accessibility to creative expression and understanding are strong motivators
that equip me with a drive of compassion to deliver life enhancing
experiences to viewers that intended to see my work and to those that have
happened upon it.
From flat canvas to public infrastructure installations my work offers this
perspective:
Life is art.
