Artist Statement
Inspired by the sheep in the field while the sun was setting that everything seemed to be glowing ??.
I experiment with gold leaf in my acrylic paintings to recreate that golden glow. Using red as an underpainting, I allow the gold leaf to leave gaps so one can see the red underpainting creating more visual interest. Sometimes I enjoy the graphic feeling the Square gold sheets create when I allow enough underpainting to show. I hope to continue exploring this combination in more ways as a grow as a creative.
