Artist Statement
I have always been attracted to opalescent and metallic qualities. My discovery of dichroic glass caused me to change my primary artistic medium from printmaking to fused glass. I love the combination of the dichroic next to opaque or transparent glass. The results are magical! Some of the pieces are reminiscent of nature, while others are more mystical. I use a double-layered mosaic technique to cut and arrange the glass. For more whimsical pieces, I acid-etch words and designs into the dichroic glass. For larger pieces, I paint on the reverse side of the glass with various media, including nail polish and car paint.
