With the New Year came new committee leadership in Tennessee Craft. For the past few weeks we have been publishing a series on our new chair members.
We’d like to continue this series by introducing Diane Hayes, our new Board Development chair.
I am an avid arts patron, especially Tennessee craft, which my husband and I both collect. Therefore, it is exciting for me to be a part of guiding, visioning, and advocating for Tennessee’s craft artists and their art.
I was asked to chair Board Development because I work for a nonprofit that trains young professionals in board development. I am assuming that is why I was asked, and it made sense because I think I have the knowledge that can help build a strong board of directors for Tennessee Craft.
Diversity among board members and a strong board that will lead and govern Tennessee Craft to grow and thrive in the future years.
That’s a hard question because my husband and I have bought so much throughout the years. But I have to say a Donna Rizzo piece of a dancer that I loved and STILL love!
I like everything about it…the art, of course; the food; the dogs; and “people watching”.
Art enriches our lives…it brings beauty into the world! It gives us a break from the hustle-and-bustle of our busy lives and makes us smile, or ponder, or enjoy, or sometimes even gasp!
