Handmade Here – Chapter Exhibition
SHOW INFORMATION
Tennessee Craft seeks entries for “Handmade Here: A Tennessee Craft Chapter Exhibition,” to encourage and promote a high standard of excellence and design among members of its Craft Artists of Eastern Tennessee: East, Northeast and Southeast Chapters.
The exhibition is open to original works of craft created by craft artists 18 years or older who are current residents of East Tennessee, including students. Eligible craft categories include: basketry, clay, fiber, glass, wood, metals, leather, handmade paper, mixed media, printmaking, jewelry and photography.
The “Handmade Here” Exhibition will be held June 2-30, 2017 at The Chattanooga WorkSpace Gallery in downtown Chattanooga, 302 W.6th Street.
ENTRIES AND ELIGIBILITY
Artists may submit up to three (3) pieces for jurying. Each piece should be represented by one image; no detail views or images depicting the same piece from multiple angles.
The competition is open to all craft artists 18 years or older, who are current residents of Tennessee, including students. Work must be original. Printmaking and photography are acceptable; however, paintings and drawings will not be accepted. No person shall be excluded from entry on the grounds of race, national origin, sex, disability, or age.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
AWARDS – Guest juror will select works to receive cash awards totaling $350.
JURYING – Jurying will be conducted solely from images submitted to tennesseecraftsse[AT]gmail[DOT]com.

ENTRY FEE – A single non-refundable fee of $35 (members of TN Craft) or $45 (non-members of TN Craft) for image(s) of up to three (3) works, payable by check to: TN Craft: Southeast Chapter, must be submitted by the application deadline of April 24, 2017.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY – All entry forms must be electronically submitted to or physically mailed and received by: Olive (Lolly) Durant, 715 Signal Mountain Boulevard, Signal Mountain, TN 37377 no later than midnight April 24th, 2017.
TRANSPORTATION/DELIVERY/INSTALLATION – Work must be ready to hang or display. The artist must furnish any special hanging or display devices, including a mount if it is necessary for display, or, if it is meant to hang, including hanging equipment (e.g. a measured slat with pre-attached Velcro). Hanging pieces without hanging equipment (e.g. cleats/Velcro and corresponding slat/hanging rings, etc.) will not be displayed, or if there is available space, and at the Museum’s discretion, they may be laid flat. Note any special handling or care of your exhibit entry on a separate sheet of paper and include it in the shipping container with your entry.
Each artist is responsible for the cost of transporting artwork to and from Chattanooga WorkSpace, as well as insurance while in transit to and from Chattanooga WorkSpace. Artwork must be delivered on/by May 29, 2017
Additional information about liability, transportation, delivery and installation will be shared with selected participants as the event nears.
